Pancreatic Cancer

What is pancreatic cancer?
Pancreatic cancer occurs when abnormal cells grow out of control in your pancreas, a small organ located behind your stomach. These pancreatic cancer cells rarely cause symptoms until they have spread to other parts of the body. Then, symptoms may include pain in the upper belly or the back, weight loss, extreme tiredness, and jaundice.

Pancreatic Cancer Care at St. Luke’s Cancer Institute
Our pancreatic cancer team offers you world-class expertise unmatched in this region with treatment options including chemotherapy, radiation, and advanced surgery such as the Whipple operation (pancreaticoduodenectomy) and removal and repair of benign and malignant pancreatic lesions and tumors.

We lead many research trials on non-surgical and surgical treatments for pancreatic cancer, bringing you leading-edge treatment options, close to home. And we’re also dedicated to proactive pancreatic cancer screening for people with family history risk.
