    Biography

    Joshua G. Barton, MD is Idaho's only liver and pancreas (HPB) surgery fellowship-trained surgeon. He is also the medical director of St. Luke's Clinic – Center for Pancreatic and Liver Diseases and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His specialty is the surgical treatment of pancreatic, biliary, liver, and stomach diseases as well as bariatric surgery including laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. He also has extensive experience using the daVinci surgical robot. 

    Dr. Barton actively participates in several professional organizations, including the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Pancreas Club, and the American Hepato-Biliary Association.

    Dr. Barton is originally from Texas and was raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. He received his bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from the University of Texas – Houston. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma. He obtained additional training in hepato-pancreato-biliary and advanced GI surgery at the Mayo Clinic.

    Troy Hunt, FNP-C Is a family nurse practitioner with special interests in bariatric surgery and weight loss medication management. He is a caring and compassionate guide for patients throughout their weight loss journey. He is dedicated to exceptional care using evidence-based practices, and he partners with his patients to achieve the best possible health outcomes. 

    Troy earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Linfield College, graduating with honors. He received his graduate degree from Georgetown University School of Nursing with a specialization as a family nurse practitioner. He is board certified with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and licensed in both Idaho and Oregon.

    In his free time, Troy enjoys hiking, fishing, hunting, pottery, and spending time with his family.

  • Biography

    Lindsay Shedd, PA-C is a nationally certified physician assistant deeply committed to the early detection and prevention of pancreatic cancer. During her years with St. Luke's Center for Pancreatic and Liver Disease, she founded and continues to lead the Pancreatic Cyst Surveillance Program and High-Risk Pancreatic Cancer Screening Program. 

    Lindsay earned her bachelor's degree in biology from State University of New York at Stony Brook, and her master's degree in medical science from Yale University School of Medicine. She has received additional specialty training through City of Hope’s High Risk Cancer Genetics Program. Lindsay is an active member of local and nationally based medical societies and enjoys advocating for her patients through the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
