Move2Perform Injury Risk Assessment

We use Move2Perform to help athletes of all ages determine their risk for future injury. This preventive tool helps an athlete or team act on warning signs rather than react to injury.

Move2Perform screening includes:

  • A clinical performance appointment
  • A series of functional assessments such as squatting, lunging, reaching, and jumping
  • Assessment result analysis through Move2Perform software, an evidence-based and researched algorithm to determine the athlete’s injury risk level

Get assessed with Move2Perform at St. Luke's Rehabilitation in Boise, Eagle, Nampa, Meridian, and McCall.

Running Gait Analysis

Whether you’re a competitive runner or you run for recreation, fitness, or to lose weight, your gait and form are crucial to improving your performance, reducing your risk of injury, and maintaining your ability to continue the sport you love. We can help keep you on the trails, the track, or the treadmill by evaluating your running gait and providing you with recommendations for improvement and injury prevention or management. Your running gait analysis includes:

  • Functional exam and musculoskeletal evaluation: You undergo several researched tests and measures specific to runners to identify muscular imbalances and asymmetries that lead to movement dysfunction.
  • 2-D video running analysis: High quality, slow motion video is entered in Dartfish® software. Each stage of the gait cycle is thoroughly examined by a physical therapist and compared to findings on your functional exam.
  • Follow-up visit: Your therapist reviews your findings with you, and provides a home exercise program individualized to your specific needs.

You’ll benefit from a running gait analysis if you:

  • Are looking to improve your running performance. If you want to improve your running efficiency and get faster, we’ll get down to the minute details that could be keeping you from getting over the hump.
  • Have a current injury, pain, or a previous history of injury. We evaluate your gait while you run and perform a detailed exam to determine the causes—and solutions—for your injury or pain.
  • Are beginning a running program. We’ll identify any risk factors before you start, show you ways to avoid injury, and offer guidance for a successful training regimen.

AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill

The AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill® gives you a “weightless” workout as part of your recovery, rehab, or ongoing maintenance program. Using the AlterG, you can walk, run, or even jump with less pain, pressure, and force than with normal, full weight-bearing exercise.

When you exercise with the AlterG:

  • You can make adjustments to the amount of body weight you want to “remove.”
  • You’ll be oriented to the treadmill by a St. Luke’s Rehabilitation staff member at your first visit, and staff will be on hand at subsequent visits if you have questions.
  • Sessions are 30-minutes each. You can schedule back-to-back sessions for a 1-hour workout.
  • Arrive early to change, warm up, and stretch before your session begins.

Blood Flow Restriction Training

Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) utilizes a pneumatic tourniquet — something like a blood-pressure cuff — to restrict blood flow to an extremity. BFR creates an anaerobic environment, one with less oxygen, so you can exercise at a low intensity or lift light weights while getting the same results as if you were exercising at a high intensity, or lifting “heavy.”

BFR helps you:

  • Build strength without overburdening an injured leg.
  • Exercise pain-free without muscles atrophying.
  • Heal properly and reduce the risk of additional injury.
