About Shannon L. Anderson

Biography

Shannon Anderson, LMSW specializes in working with adults and adolescents who have experienced trauma. She approaches trauma in a “whole person” way, using evidence-based therapies that address trauma’s impact on both the brain and the body. Shannon’s primary therapeutic methods are eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). She also uses techniques such as mindfulness and polyvagal theory. Shannon is a firm believer in healing the root cause of unwanted and problematic behaviors and distress rather than addressing individual symptoms.

Shannon earned her bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in women’s studies from Portland State University, and her master's degree in social work from Boise State University. Prior to her time at St. Luke's, she worked with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
